Local Customers Getting Direct Access to COVID-19 ANTIBODY TEST
Local families worried about potential exposure to COVID-19 over the last few months can now get their blood checked at Any Lab Test Now to see if they have antibodies to the virus which causes coronavirus. The federal government has approved the emergency use of this COVID-19 Antibody test during this pandemic. While customers can usually walk into Any Lab Test Now anytime for services, an appointment is required for the COVID-19 Antibody Test. Each customer must also pass COVID-19 screening protocols before getting access to the COVID-19 Antibody Test. During the screening, Any Lab Test Now employees will ask customers questions about potential COVID-19 exposure, as well as symptoms like fever, chills, body aches, within the last 14 days. Some locations are also taking customer’s temperatures.
Any Lab Test Now is also following special protocol when conducting the tests. Customers can stay in their car and call when they arrive for an appointment. Any Lab Test Now employees are ensuring the building is safe and clean before a customer walks inside. They are sanitizing countertops, doorknobs, handles between every customer, wearing government-approved personal protective equipment (PPE) like a facemask and gloves and washing their hands after removing PPEs.

So if you have antibodies do you test positive? is this a blood test ?
The test is performed by drawing a small amount of blood, usually from a vein in your arm. Antibody blood tests, also called serologic tests, check your blood for antibodies that would show if you have had a previous infection. Antibodies are proteins that help fight off germs. A serologic test may not be able to show if you have a current infection, because it can take 1 to 3 weeks to make antibodies after symptoms occur.
We do not know yet if having antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 can protect someone from getting infected with that virus again, or how long that protection might last. Scientists are doing studies to answer those questions.
If you test positive or negative for COVID-19, no matter the type of test, you still should take preventive measures to protect yourself and others.
Are you tracking and tracing? On iffy results?
We are not personally tracking or tracing results. All results are given directly to our customers. Certain areas are requiring the testing labs to report the positive tests to the local or State Health Departments. Our results are either a negative or a positive with a quantitative result. At this point I have not seen any 'iffy' results.
Are test results still 50 percent accurate?
The labs we use have 100% Sensitivity with up to 99.81% Specificity. These are very good percentages. They also are all FDA for EUA approved tests. The platforms that are used for testing are all FDA approved.
To have the antibodies must you have had COVID-19?
This is the assumption. People who are doing this test usually feel that because they were sick before the pandemic was announced, that the COVID may have been what they had, because they tested negative for the flu. So they are trying to find out if that may have been what it was. Every day is a learning process with this. No one knows whether or not having the antibodies will make them immune. There have been some who have tested positive for the antibodies, but they were never sick. So somewhere along the way they may have been exposed, but for whatever reason, they did not get sick. We still do not know if they will be immune forever. This will take possibly many years to know.
What is the cost?
We offer the IgA, IgM, IgG for $129 and the individual IgG or IgM for $99 each. SO the 3 is a better deal.
It is important to understand that this is not the test that will tell them if they have it right now. This only tells them if they either had it or were exposed and are showing the antibodies. They may have had mild symptoms and have gotten better. We still do not know if that means they are immune. Verdict still out on this.
