M.O.M's Charity Celebrates Sixth Anniversary

M.O.M continues their six year mission to assist struggling families in Tampa Bay

New Port Richey based non-profit, Mothers of Minors Community Outreach (M.O.M), is marking 6 years of serving single parent families in Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough and surrounding Counties.

M.O.M was founded in May 2014 by Andrea L. Clark, a single mom of four with a heart to help other struggling single moms.   The charity is focused on the empowerment of single mothers through community baby showers and by offering referrals to community resources that also assist with growing the self-sufficiency of families in the community.

To mark the occasion, the charity has launched a grand fundraising activity for their annual Showers of Love Community Baby Shower.   The event provides care packages filled with essential baby and personal care items for single mothers that are either pregnant or have a child up to one-year-old.

In 2019, M.O.M served over 150 families at the community baby shower and with emergency resources.  But this year, the goal is to serve a minimum of 250 families in need.

One beneficiary of the Baby Shower event said: "The baby shower was so wonderful. This organization provide me with lots of baby necessities. I feel blessed to have found an organization that truly cares about young mothers."

Sadly, the 2020 Baby Shower, which was originally planned for July 18, 2020, has been postponed for a future date to be announced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Commenting on the anniversary, Clark said: "This is a significant milestone which I am very proud of. Through the kind sponsorship of individuals and local businesses, we have touched the lives of several families over the years. But there is still lots more to do.  We are committed to the task and look forward to helping more families."

M.O.M is in need of sponsors and donations to help make their 2020 goal a reality. Sunshine Health and Ultimate Medical Academy has already pledged  sponsorship support; however,  there is still a need for more sponsors. Individuals can also support the initiative by donating online on the organization's website.
